Professional Learning and Ethical Practice

A teacher will continue to learn while reflecting and evaluating their personal teaching methods. One can understand how their students are learning, what growth is seen, and how those involved feel about the teacher’s methods while using differentiated instruction for each student’s specific needs. This standard is crucial as teachers must be lifelong learners, as content is continually expanding. Teachers must implement the updated course content. Additionally, instructors should evaluate themselves to be sure the students, families, parents, and others feel positively about their teaching styles and the individualized instruction. This can be achieved through a monthly learning and reflection chart for teachers, a feedback poll for students and families, and an adobe collage to get to know each student.

Teachers should complete a monthly “What I’ve Learned” chart where they fill out at least three new relevant topics they have learned for their specific subject and where they found this information. Then, they will decide on three ways that can incorporate these into their class and reflect on how they feel about doing so.

Instructors should also send out a “Teacher Feedback” poll to students, parents, families, and anyone involved in the lives of the students. They will describe their likes, dislike, anything they need help with, any issues they are facing, additional ways to contact me, and spaces for them to input their questions. Is it important to know that this is completely optional and not required, but I hope that most everyone will complete it. I will remind students about it during class time.

All About Me Digital Collage | Ms. Amsler's ArtroomStudents will create a “Get to Know Me” art piece. The design is up to the individual student and should look like a collage through Adobe. Students will add at least ten things relating to their lives. An example could be: a pool for swim team, a violin for music, a dress for fashion, and so on. The goal is to spark creativity and joy at the beginning of the year and learn about the students. Moreover, I can learn about their preferred learning styles through this collage.
